nontoxicfeeling: COMMISSION: Modern day arranged marriage

Oh man, I've always wanted to read a story that told the story of a modern day arranged marriage, as though the practice had never gone out of style. How would things be different with modern arranged marriages? How would they be the same? Really I don't mind too much about the details, het or slash is fine, a couple that wants the marriage or one that resists it, I really would just like to see how it would work in modern times. I do know that it's still done in India and whatnot, but I'm looking for one that's done in a culture where it isn't the norm these days.

riceanvampire: Orgininal Story: Ian MacArthur

Just another something to give the community a kick. I wrote this short story a few months ago after reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower. In the book, the main character Charlie begins writing a story that begins with the sentence "Ian MacArthur is a wonderful sweet fellow who wears glasses and peers out of them with delight." Charlie never gets farther than that sentence though and I decided to finish the story.

I don't think Charlie's version would have gone anything like this one, but none the less...I thought I'd share.

I'd like to encourage you guys to share your stories too. Please please don't be shy about posting in this community. Post your ideas so other people can respond. Post your writing, give and get feedback. Even if you've written a particularly profound journal entry that's artistic simply because of it's content feel free to post. And commission some stories! Let's do this thing!

Ian MacArthur...a story that makes frequent use of repetition as a literary device.Collapse )

riceanvampire: COMMISSION: Robot Tragedy

I got the idea for this community because of the song "Sentient 6" by the heavy metal band Nevermore. When I heard it I honestly thought that it had been based off of a story or a book somewhere but after a shitton of searching, I have yet to find anything resembling this song.

The song recounts the tragic story of Sentient Number Six; a robot. I'll post the lyrics under the cut.

I long to be more than a machine...Collapse )

I want to read a Frankenstein-esque story about a robot who wants to be human and ends up killing a family or destroying a town or something. But I want to feel bad for the robot.
